Nicole Reed

Nurse Practitioner

Nicole is a Family Nurse
Practitioner.  She attended Arizona State
University for her undergraduate and graduated from Florida Gulf Coast
University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.  After having her first child at a birth center, she got the calling for health care and became a birth assistant.  She provided prenatal care to thousands of women and assisted in several hundred births, where she cared for the mother and newborn immediately postpartum. While working at the birth center part time, Nicole was blessed to be a stay home mom for her four children.  During that time, she witnessed firsthand the amazing growth and development of infants and children.  She learned a great deal about holistic health care from the providers and patients at the birth center.  She also acknowledged that there was a time and place for traditional medicine.

In 2018, Nicole graduated from Rasmussen College in New Port Richey, FL with her associate
degree in nursing.  She worked as an RN at Quest Diagnostics, doing wellness screenings.  In 2023 she received her master’s degree in nursing from Loyola University New Orleans.

She then became a certified FNP through American Nurse’s Credentialing Center. During her pediatric clinical rotation, Nicole landed a spot at Premier Pediatrics in Crystal River, where she was offered a permanent position upon graduation.  She has always been good with children, so this is very fitting for her.  She applies her knowledge and clinical experience along with her motherly instincts to help parents provide the best health care to their growing children.

The Story of

Dr. Raffy Smiggles:

When driving up to our Main Office in Ocala, you will be warmly welcomed by our very own Dr. Raffy Smiggles, a well-respected Doctor loved by many – who just happens to be a Giraffe. Dr. Smiggles has graced our front entrance for many years now, and is a crowd favorite – helping many patients find our office by being such a terrific landmark.

When Dr. Smiggles first arrived to Premier Pediatrics after a long and difficult journey, he had lost his stethoscope, glasses, and even forgot his own name. So, we got him some new glasses and a shiny stethoscope, and we called on all of the children that come to our office and asked them to help Dr. Smiggles find his name.

After many days of hard work and plenty of creative ideas, the name that was chosen was a combination of suggestions from two of our patients – Raffy, and Dr. Smiggles – and we just couldn’t pick one! Oh, and why Smiggles you ask? Smiles and giggles of course! Look at his face next time you drive in – you’ll see what we mean.
